1. Remove the batteries from the plastic wrapping.
2. Insert batteries into the compartment and ensure they are seated properly.
3. Set the scale on a flat, hard, and even surface to ensure proper measurements.
4. Press the 'g/oz button to select the desired measuring unit read-out.
5. Place item to be measured onto the scale's platform.
