1. Remove/pull the plastic battery tab from the battery compartment.
2. Set the scale on a flat, hard and even surface to ensure proper measurements.
3. Press the 'Power' button to turn the scale on.
4. Press the 'Unit' button to select measuring modes.
5. Place item to be measured onto scale.
