- Disassembling or tampering with the unit voids the product warranty.
- Clean leftover food debris or oils left on the temperature probe with soapy water; the thermometer is dishwasher safe.
- Best way to sanitize food thermometer in between uses:
-Specially designed sanitizing solution
-Alcohol wipes
-Boiling water
-Soap and water (will kill most, but not all bacteria. It will not completely sanitize a thermometer.) - The thermometer is oven-safe and can be left in the meat for a maximum of 1.5 hours while cooking. Any longer can cause long-term damage to the product.
